Baltimore Magazine's Best of Baltimore!
Charm City Swing brings you an exciting workshop weekend with Quebecois sensations
Marc-Andre Vachon and Claudia Joyal LaPlante!
Classes will be taught in English with neat French (well, sort of) accents.
Register today!Marc-Andre started swing dancing in Montreal and has embraced the crazy attitude of Montreal swing dancers ever since. After rigorous study with many national instructors to hone his skills, MA forgot everything he was taught and as a result has developed a creative and highly energetic style all his own. Having experience in many dance forms like classical ballet, jazz, and tap dancing, Claudia is a member of the Swinging Air Force and teaches with Studio 88 swing in Montreal. Dazzling, persevering and inviting, Claudia will bring you into the passionate universe of swing.

Location of Great Hall:
Johns Hopkins, Charles Village campus, at the Great Hall or Glass Pavilion (both are in Levering Hall, Great Hall is right across from the main entrance and Glass Pavilion is just to the right). A map of the location appears at the bottom of this page. Click on the map for a bigger version. Levering Hall is #27 (yellow arrow).
Directions to Great Hall:
From I-83, take the 28th Street exit. Turn left on North Howard Street. One block past 29th Street, turn left at the traffic island (just before the Baltimore Museum of Art) onto Wyman Park Drive. Continue past both the entrance to and the exit from the semicircular driveway in front of the Mason Hall visitors center. Just after the exit from the driveway, turn right into the South Garage. Visitor parking is in the upper level of the underground garage. Walk up one flight to the Decker Quadrangle and then make your way to Levering Hall!
Parking Secrets for Great Hall:
The South Garage described above is $5. There is PLENTY of free street parking. Also, any lots marked "Faculty Lot" should be free after 7pm (look for signs). There's a faculty lot right at the intersection of Wyman park drive and San Martin Drive (rather than turning onto the street that gets you into the South Garage you keep going about a block). There is also lots of street parking that is not reserved for doctors after 7pm (on San Martin and Wyman park- basically all around the lot area). For events at the Mattin Center, there is also lots of parking at the BMA.
